Follow in the footsteps of the Ice Age hunters and the medieval mineworkers
Ehrenkirchen, situated in the picturesque countryside of the Naturpark Südschwarzwald (Southern Black Forest Nature Park), disposes of historically important findings, that can still be seen today. Taking a walk on the trekking trail “Stone Age path”, located on the Ölberg, you can look for Stone Age caves and mammoth hunters. However, if you follow the trail through the Ehrenstetter Grund by taking the “mining path”, you can discover testimonials of the medieval mining. Along the path boards give information about the Stone Age man or the miners who made these still visible field monuments.
